Napkins and placemats AYA. Our timeless grey table linen range with black trimmings is available in fine linen or mercerized combed cotton. Handmade thread balls border four sides of the napkins and two sides of the placemats.
“Passementerie inspires me since my first home linen styles. These thread buttons are traditional trimmings on kaftans and djellabas in Morocco since the dawn of time. An ancestral know-how that men practice traditionally. First the little thread balls are made by women at home. All other work is tailor made by men. A napkin requires between 60 and 80 thread balls which are sewn by hand, one by one. It is actually more embroidery work than sewing. It is for this reason that we carry out this craft in our workshop in Marrakesh. Our fairy-fingered artisans handle all our linens delicately and their work is meticulous.”
