Nil, peacock and white trimmings
Nil linen placemat and napkins are rimmed with peacock and white twisted yarn on the 4 sides. A trimming ball, made by hand, is hand stitched in each corner.

Finishes in trimmings …
I discovered them when I settled in Marrakech. During my many wanderings in the maze of the souks my interest for this work grew into a passion. The men who make djellabas are experts in the art of trimmings, they work in small shops. I spent a lot of time with them and after so many years I remain fascinated by this work. Thread and needle work is a skill that also exists in India, where I spent a lot of time. But … It does not equal the refinement and the complexity of Moroccan trimmings.
