ILAN, a timeless hand-made design with pompoms
ILAN is a white table linen embroidered with pompoms. Napkins and placemats in linen or cotton are hand-embroidered with white pompoms sewn together with a black thread. Entirely handmade, the pompoms line two sides of the placemat and four sides of the napkin. One napkin has 180 linear cm of handmade pompoms which is a huge amount of work.
Made of 100% linen or 100% combed cotton, mercerised.
“I designed this style in 1997 when I settled in Marrakech. It is inspired by the “Mendil”, this traditional fabric that women from the RIF region wear on their hips when working in the fields. »
