The AYA original bed linen with trimmings embroidery is an interpretation of the traditional djelleba button. It is a delicate work that requires a lot of dexterity. The trimmings are made by hand with thread and needle.
It is possible to choose the color of the handmade trimmings.

Aya modern bed linen is one of my first interpretations of traditional Moroccan textile craft. As soon as I arrived in Marrakech in 1996, I became passionate about trimmings. Ancestral know-how worked on throughout the country. Ribbons, twited yarns, thread balls and other details adorn traditional clothing. The trimmings are used both to assemble the different parts of the garments but also for its decorative aspect. Small balls made entirely by hand are used as buttons. I spend hours with the “maalems” (craftsmen) and very quickly the idea of making a personal interpretation came to life. The Aya contemporary bed linen is born».
