The NIL hand-embroidered bed linen with trimmings is an inspiration of the traditional djellebah button. It is a painstaking work that requires a lot of dexterity. The embroidery is handmade with thread and needle. Nil trimmings are also available in table linen that you can see here.
Nil trimmings are traditional components for the making of traditional djellabas and caftans in Morocco. It is during my wanderings in the old town of Marrakech that the idea of adapting this know-how and of transposing it on my contemporary household linen appears to me as obvious. In my work the starting point of a collection is always an inspiration by the hand of craftsmen. Nil bed linen is born.
Every product has a story, it’s not just a product. My collection of white bed linen is growing over time, from my desires, from my encounters … It is never dictated by the imperatives of the fashion industry.
