Hand-embroidered white pompoms line 2 sides of Lamu white terry bath towels. Made of 100% absorbant white terry cotton our bath linen crosses time.
“I imagined this style in 1997, when I arrived in Marrakech. It is inspired by the “Mendil”, the traditional fabric that RIF women wear on their hips when working in the fields.
When I discovered these traditional fabrics I wanted to know more. I was on vacation but I crossed the whole region, bargain-hunting among all the antique and second hand dealers to find vintage pieces. These textiles inspired me to create my timeless and white bath linen collection but also led me to discover traditional Moroccan embroidery. I went from discovery to discovery and this is how the V.Barkowski household linen brand was born. Between the idea and the realization 3 years were necessary. In Morocco you learn to be patient.”
