The finishing of the V. Barkowski high quality cotton bathrobe is done by hand by meticulous and skilled craftsmen in our workshops in Morocco. A carmine or black embroidery runs along the belt and a part of the hood. The hood is decorated with a hand-embroidered pompom. V. Barkowski handmade peignoir is suitable to be worn during long breakfasts or during those lazy weekends at home.

The pompom: a signature touch by Valérie Barkowski

The pompom is an emblematic finishing of the brand V. Barkowski. It all started about twenty years ago, when Valérie arrived in Marrakech, she was inspired by ancestral embroidery techniques and wanted to have timeless bed, table and bath linen embroidered for her home. She took an interest in local artisans. Little by little, several modern collections of bed linen, bath linen and table linen were designed. At the time, Valérie Barkowski’s work was best known thanks to the TULUM collection of bath linen with pompoms which was directly inspired by Moroccan culture. Indeed, this tasselled bath linen had immediate success and is still very popular at the moment. Not surprisingly, pompoms are also appearing in cotton home accessories. V.
